Harpy

Birdie’s a hoarder. The neighbours call her a harridan and a harpy, although most have never

even met her. They see her hoard as a hazard for house prices. But it isn’t rubbish. It’s her life’s

work and it exists because years ago something deeply cherished was stolenfrom her; Birdie’s

not been able to give up anything since. She’ll do anything to get this priceless thing back.

Anything at all.

National treasure Su Pollard gives a one-woman tour-de-force performance in this razor-sharp and bittersweet dark drama from Fringe First award winner Philip Meeks (Kiss Me Honey, Honey!, Murder, Margaret and Me).

‘Witty’ and ‘enchanting’ (★★★★ The Telegraph), Love, Loss & Chianti is an intimate new production

starring Robert Bathurst (Cold Feet, Downton Abbey, Toast of London) and Rebecca Johnson (The Trip,

The Flood).

A delicious double-bill, Love, Loss & Chianti beautifully combines critically acclaimed poet Christopher

Reid’s hauntingly powerful exploration of grief (A Scattering) with his raucous verse comedy, following a

reckless attempt at rekindling an old flame (The Song of Lunch) - what could possibly go wrong?

Directed by Jason Morrell and set to spectacular animation by celebrated cartoonist Charles Peattie, it’s the perfect night out for anyone who’s ever loved, lost or been on a rubbish date…
